About Surat
Surat finds mention in history books for producing fine silks, exquisite brocades and trading in spices. Well connected by air, rail and road with rest of Gujarat and India, modern day Surat is an industrial hub and holds great tourism potential. Surat holds numerous attractions for tourists. Among Surat's exotic beaches, Ubharat and Hajira are fine sandy ones dotted by palm and casuarina trees respectively. Dumas is a seaside health resort some 16 kms away.
